I seem to be able to keep a more even effect by taking the purple and white bottle I think because of the small amount of magnesium and possibly the other minerals also I don't really know for sure. Calcium is so constipating which is why it helps the little bit of magneisum helps keep that from happening. We are all different but you will only know by trying the different formulas.Linda
