I don't know for sure, but I think things like this happen after *extended* periods of straining, not just one day. I hope you get some other, more informed responses to your query!It's hard not to worry about one's bowels when they are causing one a great deal of discomfort. Please report back, though, if you find therapy helpful.
MY GP did a rectal and says he doesn't think so. He also says people live for years with one. I see the specialist again on 1/23.I know I'll need more sophisticated testing than just a rectal; I'm just checking in. Ironically, Zelnorm cleared me out completely on Sunday (no stool "hanging" up there); but, not today.
