I have just been to the gastroenterologist, my bile salt results were very low, meaning I do not absorb my bile salts, he said it could be why the diarrhoea has got so bad and has prescribed me some colesevelam hydrochloride tablets (similar to questran powders but in tablet form) to help absorb the bile. I really hope these work as I am so fed up with all the treatments not working and the pain and cramps and the urgent D. Has any body else every tried these with any success.

Hi Cherrypie, Sorry I don't know anything about those tablets at all but I just wanted to say that I really hope that they help you, I have my fingers crossed for you. I really hope that they have found the problem for you. Let us know how you get on.

ClaireukThank youI hope they work too, I have to take 2 with my breakfast and 2 with my tea, and try to fit all my other medication in as well either 1 hour before or 4-6 hours after, its not going to be easy. Ireally hope they work, see the specialist again in 2 months to reassess the situation.
