Hi all!I've been reading a lot lately on the site and would like to appreciate everybody support. My doc diagnosed with IbS-CI've had this abdominal pain for about 6 mo now, but now after taking some antibiotics Levsin and Bentyl I feel even worst. I have for about 1 mo these spasms in my colon constantly especially in my lower right.I've taken barium enema test, colonoscope, x-ray, blood tests and etc., now my doc took stool test to check parasites and blood, so far he can't find anything. Hovewer, since then I started seeing him I feel worst. I made another appointment with a different doc, but I have to wait 1 mo for that.I had constipation problems before, since started taking fiber con and fiber friendly diet it went away. But these spasms on my lower right and upper right as well upper left really bother me. I think I might be allergic to antibiotics. I am just afraid it might be a colon cancer or ulcer colitis instead of ibs. I lost about 20lbs and I don't have appetite often lately.Any of you had such symptoms before?Tell me if I should do biopsy test, I think it would not hurt. I've taking some Caltrate and Acidophilus to kill backteria, but that does not seem to help. First my doc found H pylori backteria in my blood test, when I asked him to check my blood again he said it would show backteria then again. Weird hu? Should I insist on another blood test?Any advice? Also if anyone knows a good doc in San Fran please let me know.Stay strong!!!

Aleks, you didn't say if your doc is a specialist or not? There is no doubt that you should ask about a colonoscopy or insist...if you want. If for no other reason than peace of mind. Worry can only make us worse. H.Pylori is being treated with antibiotics , successfully, I think. Taking Culturelle with the antibiotics is supposed to help. Good luck.

Hi Aleks, Have you modified your diet at all? I'm pretty convinced that for me the spasms are usually triggered by stress. Stress is funny because it can show up a few days later so there doesn't seem to be a correlation. Keep in mind I've had pain for spasms for up to a month straight with no relief so it doesn't necessarily go away right away. You mentioned Bentyl which is an anti-spasmodic, it helps me but doesn't work for a lot of people, maybe you should try a different anti-spasm med. Maybe others have some suggestions. Have you been checked for psyllium sprue (spelling is questionable)? This is a gluten allergy and can damage your small intestines. There's a blood test or a biopsy that can be done on the small intestine. I hope you find something that helps soon. Jackie

Thanks for responces guys.My doc is GI specialist, but he does not seem to care much about my problems. I had a colonoscopy test taken which showed nothing. Now I want a colonoscopy test which includes a biopsy test. I did change my diet to more fiber friendly and my constipation is much better. I used to have dark stools and that changed too after taking fiber con. Last appointment I requested a stool test hope that will find something.

Thank you for your reply, I made an appointment with Dr.Ladabaum actually, but I have to wait like a mo first. Tell me if he only sees patients twice a week? How is he treating you? What tests did he recommend to you, if you dont mind sharing.I appreciate your posting, thanks Aleks
