I have a colonoscopy coming up soon and just wondering what would be the best way to get it option one - sedation or option 2 - gas and air? Also how safe are they? I am really worried about getting it done.

I recently had one with sedation and it was a piece of cake. The risk looks low to very low to me but it is not zero. Protection from leakage under clothing is in my opinion mandatory before and after the procedure. I may not have gotten it without some other indication that it should be done but knowing I am cancer free is a good thing.

I've had a colonoscopy before and I got put under. It was really easy that way. I felt nothing during the procedure.

same here. i had sedation. felt nothing during the prcedure. really, it was a piece of cake. please don't worry about it.
