Hiya,I'm new to this board and have found it very useful.I wonder what anyone thinks of this or can advise, or empathise.A Dr said I had IBS without doing any tests. Usual signs...constipation, some diarrea, pains in lower left and upper right, bloating, wind etc. However, I went back when I noticed blood on my stools and occassionally just passing mucus. Fortunately, it was a different Dr who referred me straight away (well for 2 months later) to a specialist. Had blood tests, stool samples and a short tube inserted for a colon biopsy.I'm waiting to hear the results in a weeks time, when I have a follow up appointment. My concern is that I have since passed more blood, lost some weight (I'm hoping it's because of a change in my diet) and feel very tired and dizzy on occasion.Anyone had to go through this anxiety? It's blimmin awful isn't it...and expecting the worse.Goodybytes

Try not to worry too much. these were similar to the symptoms I had before my IBS diagnosis. It could still be IBS but it was good to get it checked out in case it isn't.Hope it all works out for you...keep checking this board for other experiences...

Hemorrhoids http://www.gicare.com/pated/ecdgs10.htm Rectal Bleeding http://www.gicare.com/pated/ecdgs29.htm Anal Fissure, Abscess and Fistula http://www.gicare.com/pated/ecdgs38.htm Mucous is seen a lot in IBS. The bowel wall sheds cells when there are major contractions."Some patients see gobs of mucous in the stool and become concerned. Mucous is a normal secretion of the bowel, although most of the time it cannot be seen. IBS patients sometimes produce large amounts of mucous, but this is not a serious problem." http://www.gicare.com/pated/ecdgs03.htm
