IBS is chronic by definition. If you have diagnosed with IBS it has to have shown it is chronic (long lasting).You don't need to have symptoms every single day to have IBS, but some IBSers do have daily symptoms. Some people are lucky and have good days with few/no symptoms and other days with lots of them.Both are IBS, both are chronic.
