Has anyone had any experience in using Cramp bark. I read about it in the Prevention Magazine and it said it was very helpful in treating the cramps associated with IBS. However all the info I have pulled off the web talks primarily about controlling female cramps. As I am male, I don't know if it would help me or not. Anyone have any knowledge on this herb ?

Try searching for cramp bark irritable bowel on google and that pulls up a bunch of sites including this one http://216.55.141.125/cramp_bark.htm It sounds like it acts on smooth muscles sort of thing and the same type of muscles surround both the reproductive and digestive organs (as well as bladder) The compounds do not know which organ you want them to go to, after all, they just work on all smooth muscle they find.K.

Looked up the side effects (ignoring all the sites that claim it has no side effects as there are some that claim that herbs do not cannot have side effects in their propaganda....) http://www.personalhealthzone.com/herbal_m...de_effects.html Looks like the main concerns are on lowering blood pressure and interactions with sedatives. Don't know if those are issues for you.K.
