Some of you guys might be dealing with this, I hope it has not made my condition worse. I believe I have had IBS since childhood, which is what led me to having a colonoscopy and upper endoscopy later on in my 20s.

I feel that both colonoscopies and upper endoscopies are over prescribed, an example is my 84 year old Grammee, who is still being prescribed regular colonoscopies for early cancer detection.

People who are fit and healthy are still being prescribed them after a certain age-for prevention.

If an once of prevention is worth a pound of cure, let's be sure that the prevention used is not worth the problem in disguise.

This is scary stuff...I know that there is little other way to get to the bottom of some issues, but we certainly need to know our risks....
