I've wondered for some time if I suffer from IBS, (my mother does). I suffer sometimes from terrible bloating which causes alot of pain, also terrible stomach pain after meals. Last night for the second time in 2 months I have been woken in the middle of the night to find myself lying in my own diarroea, it was a horrible experience, completely uncontrollable and without warning. Do you think I might have IBS? My mother takes colpermin for it, I usually just take something like Deflatine when I get the bloating and I can cope with that but it's the diarroea that really worries me, I don't know how I'm going to cope if this happens more often, god forbid it happens during the day...

You should definitely see a dr for your diagnosis.Being woken by diarrhea while sleeping is usually a sign that it's NOT IBS. There are so many things that can go wrong with your gut. You owe it to yourself to get professionally diagnosis and treatment.Good luck!!

Could be a start of IBS. But I'd suggest to check with your MD first.Just my opinionJadair
