Hello Victoriar -Welcome to the IBS Support group. I'm pretty new too, though have had this dastardly thing for about 6 years, maybe more. I'm guessing that you're English/ British because you have Tea in the evening instead of Dinner. Am I right? I read your reply to me about being tired. And also the one above about being less comfortable sitting than laying down or standing.I find that when I eat a normal size meal my stomach becomes OVERfull and also gas is produced in my system, so I very shortly get pressure on my diaphragm which makes my breathing shorter. And because my digestion problem isn't D or C, but extreme sluggishness, I feel full for 6-8 hours after any medium to large meal. UGGHHH!!! I prefer to stand or lie down for a resting period after dinner because of this. But during the day I am at work and this of course is not a possibility. But I do know that there are times that I wish I didn't have to eat at all. My tiredness has to do with both eating more sugar and pasta type foods than good, and just simply that my guts are overworking to digest for 6-8 hrs. Do you get bloated on a regular basis after meals? Is your digestion sluggish or do you have the D Type?Hang In There, Jill

To Jill,Yes I get blotted a lot. I'm aching now but I have only had a few chocs after my tea. Yes I'm English. For tea I had a small meat pie some carrots, turnip and mashed potatoes. I get my C. and no D., I go to bathroom regularly (4/5 times a day/ normal).victoriarAny other questions you can email me.

Hi Victoriar,I get problems, like feeling very bloated when there is pressure on my abdomen. You can read my post in this forum on 991228.Almost all trousers give me this problem. When sitting down somehow the band/belt of the trousers presses down more, I get more problems when sitting. Standing up or lying down gives me definate relief. In my case it is the pressure which causes my bowels to somehow behave strange. Lots of noise and within an hour I start feeling bloated. No pressure -> I feel perfectly OK no matter what I eat. This is rather unusual as I read that most people here experience a link between what, how much or when they eat and their problems.Ta,Marc.
