Although I'm quite constipated--have been all my life--my main symptoms are a stomach discomfort when I eat, "pain" under the LEFT side of my rib cage or around my belly button (sometimes so severe I have to take a "GI Cocktail") and nausea and vomiting. After tests and trials on different meds, I was just diagnosed as having IBS, but the posts here all seem to relate specifically to bowel problems. Does anyone else experience stomach pain and upsets as well? (I'm taking Librax and Paxil). Thanks for your time. Happy 4th of July! Hi, it's me again. I hate it when nobody answers my posts, so I try to fill in all the gaps, even though half the time I don't know what I'm talking about. Part of my anal retentive, obsessive/compulsive, controlling personality. I'm on Paxil also. What a surprise, huh? If you read many of these posts you will find that the pain can strike anywhere from your neck to your knees. No kidding. Sometimes I get pain in my left groin that shoots down my leg and I have trouble walking. Most of the pain that we IBSers have travels, and keeps us upset much of the time. That's why doctors don't know what to do for us. That's why we have this bulletin board. I probably haven't been much help, but thought I'd say hello, anyway. I'm sure most people are out celebrating the 4th. Me? My husband and I are painting the bedroom. Have a happy day.

Georgie: Me again (as with tmo "Jan") - I too have stomach pain off and on. If you read the symptoms listed at the beginning of the Parkview Pub webpage, you'll see there are many symptoms of IBS. I'd recommend reading Dr. Salt's book too (available from this website.) It will help you understand IBS a little better. I bought my copy at Barnes and Noble here in town. I have had pains in different locations with my IBS, just yesterday i had some in the lower Right abdomen, just about groin area - now that's a new one. But it's gone now. Gotta go fix our feast for the grill now, it's 96 and high humidity here UGH!! karenr

Hi, I am bother mostly in my stomach...going to be tubed on the 19th just to check and make sure there is nothing more serious. I have nausea a lot and have vomited a few times which is unusual for me. The feeling in my stomach is more of a bother to me than the lower cramps. I have pain also in the areas your mentioned...
