I'm really glad to hear that others are woken with cramping. Two of my siblings have IBS but have never been woken up from it. My gastroenterologist didn't seem to think it was typical, but neither did she say it was probably anything else.
My GI didn't say what it would be otherwise, but said that nocturnal symptoms were atypical for IBS and warranted further testing. I paid 250 for that too. : )
My GI said that in some cases it can be common. He of course ran other checks, but told me that it was nothing that big to get stressed over. Like many others posted above, I usually get to be awoken at 2-3 AM most times so I lose all my helpful sleep, even though IBS drains my body of energy anyways
. But since I started my new meds I've barely gotten more than some gas and a few more than usual movements, but nothing bad. Raven
Hi, I have been woken up on occasion with the spasms on my right side - normally when its really bad. I don't get much C or D - just pain.I'd say about 7 times a year its bad enough to wake me.Best wishes,Peter
