There is the same amount of loperamide (2mg) in each Immodium AD as the regular Immodium. The difference is: immodium AD also contains simethicone which is an anti-gas medication. So as far as stopping the diarrhea, there would be no difference from the regular immodium.
I don't have a box of Advanced to check it, but I read on this board long ago that Immodium Advanced has sorbitol in it. Its an artificial sweetener to make it taste better since its a chewable. If sorbitol bother you like it does me, you might want to check the box and see if its one of the inactive ingredients.
