On the one hand, it certainly is not outright crazy (e.g, homeopathy or iridology), but on the other hand, it doesn't seem have a lot of relevance for IBS other than some basic dietary suggestions. Looking at things it mentions 1). normal bacterial balance: who says it is out of balance? And what evidence is there one can change it?2) this seems like a nice thing although how it is of value to treating IBS is not clear.3) there is no evidence there is anything wrong with digestion in IBS and it's not clear how one can improve something that already works.4) since people often complain of this even though it probably has no connection to IBS, it seems to be a reasonable option. 5) although there is no reason to think gas is excessively produced in the gut, it seems reasonable to reduce the normal load of gas.6) why this is so important to IBS is not clear.7) most people probably don't need extra vitamins, but why it is specifically mentioned is not clear.Overall, there are some potentially beneficial dietary changes here but you can get by experimenting on your own. There doesn't seem to be a lot special here and it doesn't mention other things with regard to stress, hypnotherapy or medications.I would say it is a pseudo-holistic approach.

This article was excellent in the fact it explained exactly what people with IBS have been through, tests, pills, etc, then to be told you are a nevours person, take fiber, go home and live with it. Of course you see the forest through the trees, it is someone who has a product to sell and no other is like it, still all in all it was a good article.
