A contact of mine flew to see Dr. Pimental. Dr. P said that in his opinion many cases of IBD are actually caused by SIBO. He felt that the inflamation may be an immune assault against SIBO. Flux, did you discuss this with him?Also did you ask him if he thinks PPIS could cause SIBO. Theoretically it seems it could.Thanks,PEte

The only reference I recall was that some IBSers may have Crohn's or a condition he termed prodromal Crohn's (Crohn's in development). I don't think he made any association between Crohn's and SIBO, though.I didn't ask him about PPIs leading to SIBO. I personally don't think it does.
