Eating Habits

Having IBS, it is sometimes hard to maintain a regular eating schedule. Sometimes I'll eat lunch at noon and then wont eat dinner until late at night because of places I have to go after work. I've heard that this inconsistancy can increase IBS symptoms and that eating on a VERY empty stomach can make IBS much worse. Does anyone know about this? Has anyone had better luck by eating small amounts throughout the day?

Hi GU:I've heard it mentioned that it's better for us to eat smaller meals during the day. I tried it, and found out my small meals kept getting bigger and bigger, and I gained weight! LOL But for people who do have willpower, small meals seem to work the best.I don't know about inconsistency affecting IBS because I'm such a creature of habit. Somone else will have to answer that one.JeanG
