This may have already been discussed on this forum last year or before that but I feel it is such animportant topic, that I am posting links to these two articles below.In some cases, CT scans are needed, especially for those who are suffering life threateningailments. But an estimated 20 to 30% of all CT scans are a waste of time. While the wastingof money spent on CT scans is an issue, the bigger issue is the cancer risk associated withexcess CT scans. One CT scan can be the same as 100 to 400 x-rays (depending on the typeof scan.)The Hippocratic oath states, "first do no harm."Unfortunately medicine does not abide by this oath.We must protect ourselves by taking control.
