I have had an irritable bowel D type for about 10 years now, but I never experienced anything like this. Last night a few hours after dinner I started having very bad cramps, pain and what felt like contractions. This lasted a few hours and then all night until 2 a.m. I had diarhhea. Usually the pain subsides after several "explosions" but this time I still have the cramps and pain, but the contractions have gone away. My husband said maybe you're having a baby. I told him, no I'm having a BM. It is now morning and I still feel pain and dull ache in lower bowel. Has anyone ever had these symptoms and what did you take for it. Do you think it is irritable bowel or some kind of virus? I plan to call my GI doctor today but I count on all of you for support. Please Help.

Maybe a dose of Tylenol might help with the pains for now.
