I feel like I am completely full and nothing is moving...The good news is that the pain is minimal and tolerable. I haven't had to use Morphine, in a very long time. I feel like my life is literally stuck and I am not sure what to do any more. I have severe IBS-A (both). I used to have hope and now I am not sure of anything, anymore. I have seen a GI specialist who put me on cholestrymine, the drug worked toooooo well. It plugged me up and now I can't seem to get my insides moving. My stomach and intestines don't seem to work anymore. I have been trying to regulate my insides for the last 3 weeks and nothing seems to be working. I take Bentylol and peppermint capsules for the mild pain that I suffer from. On a daily bases I drink plenty of water, my beverage of choice, and I take Tuzen (probiotic specific for IBS) Fiber tablets, and digestive enzymes...I have also been taking Senna tablets, Ex-Lax, and MOM...nothing seems to be working. It seems like I have gone back to square 1, when my IBS started over 3 years ago. I am able to leave the house and have minimal pain. I am still afraid to eat anything if I know that I have to go out, because I DID suffer from extreme diarrhea, a few times too many. The question that I have, WHY AREN'T MY INSIDES WORKING??? I understand when I am taking the morphine, because it slows everything down, but I haven't used it in well over 2 weeks. Any suggestions?

Thank you so much for responding to my post. Doc, you are absolutely correct when you say that I had antibiotics...A little over 3 years ago, I had gall-bladder surgeries (yes plural) during my 2nd procedure to remove gallstones from my bile duct, my liver had an abcess and was completely infected. I was hospitalized and given IV antibiotics to clear up my liver. I was also given additional antibiotics when I was released.........since then my life has NEVER been the same. I am also type 2 diabetic (Metformin 500mg x 3daily) and I also suffer depression (Cymbalta 60 mg once daily). A FEW questions for DOC, you are suggesting that I take the Cholestyramine with a probiotic. Would activia yogart work??? And what is boulardii- where would I find that?
