So I am having a fantastic episode, last night my stomach felt weird with that burning felling and I thought it's just going to be gas or bad D in the morning. It was bad D I woke up to go to the bathroom and my stomach started hurting and churning then the D hit felt much better after went back to my room and my stomach started hurting again boom D again. I feel better now this doesn't happen very often but holy #### it's painful when it does! I chewed 2 Immodium hopefully that works. My sympathies for those with severe IBS who go through this on a daily basis. I think it was just time as I haven't felt the greatest symptom wise this week or it was the cheese and candy I ate the night before. Thanks for reading to nice to vent/share issues as most don't care to hear about others bowel problems.Cheers

Cheers for the reply I get it once every few months. Ugh I hate it how do you do it? You are a far stronger person than I am. I couldn't deal with that everyday. The worst part is rather quite funny actually I went to the gym the night before and it was arm and upper back night. My arms are so bloody sore I can hardly wipe my bum lol. Just adds a little insult to injury.

Hi,I get the odd bad D eposode every now and then (normally just very soft and slightly formed), last time was last Sat, had a good day/busy day, felt ok but did not go to the loo till the evening (after a big dinner), normally go 3/4 times a day, 2 in the AM for sure. So went for a 'normal' ish sitting, then sat back down on the sofa, a little while later tummy starts to hurt and I get that feeling.. Bolt to the loo, then 2 x bad D that night. Was ok the next day, a little D'ish in the morning and tummy felt a little off that day, then went a day or so with say 2 BM's then last few days back to normal. Last night I had a few aches/pains/prickly sensation in my left side and still have it lingering today, 1st BM today was soft and just about formed, then had a softer and looser 2nd sitting... Oh joy...

TanaG my usual symptoms are Gas at night and morning. I have loose-ish stools they are not Lincoln log beautiful and sometimes I feel like I haven't emptied my bowels fully. I only go once a day on rare occasion 2 times but then that's at night. I sometimes get a bit pain but its just uncomfortable and fades quickly. Even mild IBS sucks too you get that yea I am fine then boom brings you right back down so depressing.

Hello IPPO I know the feeling when your stomach starts churning anf you just know whats about to happens and it's a mad dash to the loo. It's so bizzar how you can have bad D one day then fine the next like nothing happened. IBS is such a beast to deal with.

I have exactly the same symptoms as you!!!! Farts in the evenings and mornings and just 1 or 2 loose BM's a day! Am so pleased there's someone else just like me in here
(if somebody could be pleased by something like this...lol). What meds have you tried so far? I too have a flare up every 2-3 weeks or so, which starts with cramps and ends with a few loose stools. I currently gave up birth control pills to see if it will make any difference and am already feeling much better. Hell knows...maybe it was from them!

Hello Tana To be honest I am usually fine everyday with no real issues I don't take anything except vitamins. I haven't found any probiotics that helped me. Now I am back to normal I had bad D this morning at 7am get up at noon and I am fine like nothing happened.

Yeah that's exactly how it happens to me too. I wake up and I have one loose or weird stool half formed half loose and farts and stuff and then I am fine as if nothing happened. Then I have some gas at night, but not much. I do have days or weeks when I go out normal though I never managed to eliminate the gas problem and the discomfort that comes with it (plus the embarrassment). I am taking a probiotic now which proved to be quite good for me and am taking some pills made out of plants and stuff (those I reduced the dose as they tend to really constipate me) and I drink mint tea. But I did have bad days in the beginning and the main problem were the cramps, which I don't really have anymore. To be honest all these months have been a nightmare mostly because you never know when you're going to be ok and when you're not
I started not to want to sleep because I am just afraid of the next morning. Does it make any sense? Maybe I'm losing it ....

Yes makes sense to me. I started taking a probiotic again. I have had weeks and even months go by where I am fine with no issues other than gas at night which isn't the worst when your male. Yes when I first started having symptoms it was terrible and very bad then it just gradually got better to the point where I'm fine. I don't really have trouble sleeping because I am dreading the next day but I don't stay at peoples houses because of that reason. I don't think your losing it just focusing on it to much. Maybe thats what helps me I just ignore my symptoms. It may sound selfish but mild IBS sucks just as much as Severe IBS but for different reasons

I know what you mean....I probably became obsessed with my poo
... I am trying to take my mind off my problems but is very hard. I became totally paranoid. Maybe thinking too much about your symptoms also makes them worse. I've never been seriously sick in my life. I probably had a few colds and allergies but that was about it. Turns out I am not very good at being ill. I am a fun loving person and this just kills me!

Hi S_line and TanaG,Similar to you, I can go a little while feeling fine, then I just a few days when all seems to go a little wrong, that them makes me (as you say TanaG), obsess with my poop, which then makes we panic and stress even more!!! Nasty cycle to get your head stuck in!

Im obsessed about my ibs-d I always go to the toilet in the morning before breakfast and its always loose, then have breakfast and have to go again, again its loose. I take one and a half imodium every day, the half at night and the whole one before breakfast. It doesnt seem to help with the early morning bms though, after about 11am then they seem to start working. I worry about it being loose, about going out and not making it to the toilet in time. I hate this ibs-d so much . I suffer with anxiety and depression as well because of it, and that makes the ibs-d worse, then i get more anxious, vicious circle. I listen to hypnotherapy cds and have cbt and i still cant stop getting uptight about it.

Cherry Pie try taking the imodium WITH you evening meal. Or at least try taking the WHOLE one at night and the half in the morning.

I have tried taking the whole imodium at night before bedtime and half in the morning, it makes no difference. Still loose bm first thing in the morning, then another after breakfast, usualy looser than the first one. I just dont know what to do. Ive tried calcium carbonate, Questran, even codeine phosphate as they are supposed to be constipating.

Hi all with this revolting D.I go to the loo everyday even if I take Imodium, I have tried so many things and cost me a small fortune.It does rule your life as you can't get it out of your mind if you have to go out, am I going to embarrass myslef where's the loos and the list goes on, if I don't eat I get the D worse. My weight has gone right up doctor says my body is storing the fat.I would take one Imodium before I went to bed hoping it would help me but no as soon as I am moving I am running for the loo go to get up and right back down again some times wonder where did that all come from surely I can't have any left and yep wrong some mornings I have gone 8 times before I can even think about leaving the house and after taking 3 or for tablets to stop it. A few times I have locked the house got in the car and the urge comes get out run back inside and just make it sometimes I don't so change take another tablet and then try again. I used to get it all day now it is just the mornings sometimes no warning just comes on so quick another time I can have pains in the guts and on the loo feeling quite ill sweaty and then that could last half an hour before I feel a bit better. I am too scared to even start a relationship because of it, it does rule my life and I hate it and all the doctors can say is watch what triggers it one day think yeah that was what did it then don't eat that paticular food and bam cop it big time and so then I eat the thing that did it before and I am fine, so who the hell knows what does it told stress anxiety depression sure I have it with all this happening in my life, does the doctor know anything? Yeah take the anti D tablets goodbye. I want answers as so many have it now but no one is coming up with anything that is helping.I pray someone comes up with the right answer for all of us I really do.Keep putting in to this as something might help one of us. If it is a natural thing that works please write the name of it as I am so willing to try anything to try to block me up a bit. It has cost me so much in toilet paper as well always have to buy two packs at a time and I am on my own I am like I am buying for a family.
