I found something that helps with the gas and that is taking an alkaseltzer. (SP?). Tonight I had major gas (fart) and I tried one of these tablets. It helped.

Thanks for the info. When I had gas a while back my husband kept telling me to take Alka Seltzer, but I didn't think it would help the intestinal gas (it doesn't seem to stop his farting!).

I don't think alka-seltzer reduces intestinal gas. I don't think it's capable of that. Maybe it was coincidence. If you're farting gas then there's nothing you can take at that point to reduce it, since it has already been produced. Alka-seltzer is for heartburn as far as I know, unless they have some new product. It's an antiacid, so if it did anything at all I'd think it could increase gas (although it probably doesn't do that either).[This message has been edited by Ugh (edited 04-29-2001).]
