I often cut columns out of the paper and this is one of them (however I'm not posting the whole column, but I think the moms will like this):A mother was sick in bed with the flu. Her darling daughter wanted so much to be a good nurse. She fluffed the pillows and brought a magazine to read,And then she even showed up with a surprise cup of tea."Why, you're such a sweetheart", the mother said as she drank the tea. "I didn't know you even knew how to make tea"."Oh, yes", the little girl replied. "I learned by watching you. I put the tea leaves in the pan and then I put in the water, and I boiled it and then strained it into a cup. But I couldn't find a strainer, so I used the flyswatter instead"."You what?" the mother screamed. And the little girl said, "Oh, don't worry, Mom, I didn't use the new flyswatter, I used the old one".------------James Dobson said when kids try their hardest and get it all wrong, the child needs her mistakes. That's how she learns; go along with the game now and then---even if the tea you drink tastes a little strange.------------------LET'S ALL PRAY FOR A CURE TO THIS IBS SOON!BETTIE

Oh Bettie - yuck! I have a little story:It was Thanksgiving. Our two older daughters, then aged approximately 13 & 14 years of age, asked us if they could prepare the turkey. I left a note for them, telling them how to prepare the bird. So, leaving the younger children and the turkey in the care of our capable oldest girls, we went out for coffee. When we returned home, the turkey looked quite lovely, all covered in tinfoil in the oven. Later, I prepared the rest of the meal. We ate the lovely supper and thanked the girls profusely for their help.It wasn't til many years later that the girls admitted to us that they'd washed the turkey out with dish detergent!!!!!!! We all laugh about this now - they say to us "well Mom, you said to wash the turkey"!!!!! They didn't even realize what they'd done til years later...!And, by the way, we didn't get sick from the bird!!

Anxious, that was good; it reminds me of a story I heard years ago--don't know if it was supposed to be true or not:A lady was having a large Thanksgiving dinner for family and friends. As she was bringing the turkey into the dining room, it slipped off the platter!! She told the guests not to worry, she would just go to the kitchen and get the other one; she picked the bird off the floor, took it to the kitchen, wiped it off, put it back on the platter and away to the dining room she went (with no one any wiser)! ------------------LET'S ALL PRAY FOR A CURE TO THIS IBS SOON!BETTIE
