is there anybody who have been tested for the fructose malabsortion?Apparrently it can be trigger to ibs.the only times in 7 years who i experience relief of ibs was when during 1 weeks i reduce my comsumption of fructose, carbohydrats, fats, snacks and the amounts of foods in general. In fact, i was doing ABSOLUTLY NOTHING during this week.I'm still searching why i was very less irritable.

I definetly keep fructose down to a minimum but it is not my cause of IBS. It does tend to aggravate symptoms though. I think people with IBS are just alot more sensitive to things that might bother normal people only a little bit. These things tend to bother us a lot. I'm getting a capsule endoscopy on Tuesday and will let everyone know if it revealed anything new in my case. Thankss

For years I was able to tolerate fructose without problems. Then my hormones and my autoimmune system as well as my parasympathetic nervous system changed... and voila...IBS became about 20 times worse !

I think the difference between IBS patients and healthy people with fructose malabsorption id that the healthy people don't feel the pain and spasms etc. But they do still get D or/and gas. So in tthat sense it is not a cause of IBS as IBs is characterized by pain or discomfort of some kind.
