Magnesium oxide supplements are easy to try also. 500 mg to start. They're the cheapest ones out there -- I've only found them in drug stores, not the high end health food or vitamin stores.IBS can be progressive. It was for me, although it started in my teens. It took many years for me to be unable to go without assistance. So fiber may have worked for you for a while, but now you might need more. Zelnorm may be a good option for you, and it may work alone or in combination with fiber and/or magnesium.You haven't seen a gastroenterologist. This disorder is complex and you owe it to yourself to get a medical ally. Self treating is always an option but not necessarily the best way.Dana
