My IBS I believe began after several years of having to take painkillers for various injuries. So, I'm a firm believer that pain killers can upset the delicate balance in the digestive system. What works for me when I'm really bad is magnesium. There is a really good magnesium powder that comes in flavors. You just mix it with water and trust me, I started moving the next day! The flavor I had was raspberry/lemon. Exercise, exercise, exercise. Very important and drink water. Some people are helped with fiber, some aren't. It's something that you just have to try and if it works for you great, if not, well, move on to something else. There is Zelnorm, a medication out there, that might help you. It didn't do much for me, but it has worked for some. That's about all I can think of right now, but you're in a good place. People here have tons of good ideas and suggestions. Good luck. Don't be afraid to ask anything around here.
