I have a quick couple questions! I'm going to the GI for the first time next week. I've waited 3 months to get in, so I want to make sure I ask all the right things- and I'm sure you all can help me!Basically, I have IBS-C, but I take Fibercon and have a BM once a day or once every other day... My biggest problem is the CONSTANT bloating 24/7, and the pain the bloating causes. I also have a lot of gas. Should I ask him to put me on zelnorm? Or do you guys think it will make my symptoms worse. Are there any other prescriptions I should ask him about or be aware of? Please help! Thanks

Every GI has different opinions. You will have to try out what they AND you think is best therapy to try. I have IBS-D and I have been through 3 GI's and certain ones do not believe much in anti-depressant drugs for IBS, yet the other 2 praised them. Good luck and just be honest and open with him about your problems and YOUR ideas about therapy.PS- My GI is BOOKED, so I have to wait awhile to see him so what I do is write down how I feel a week or so before my appointment and print it up for him. Not a long journal LOL just a few things here and there..really helps!
