Hi Stomach Troubles. Well, I did go to the doctor, but he didn't seem to take me very serious. He said that Celiac disease was not common, but he did order some blood work, but not the antigen testing for the Celiac like I had hoped for. And stool specimens. Oh well, nothing I'm not used to. Just cannot seem to be taken very seriously. He said that where I had already had an endoscopy in October that they would have found it then. But I figured that they would have to be looking for it specifically, and I know that they were not. Heck, I didn't even know such a thing existed until just lately.I've cut out all milk and cheese and it seems to be helping a bit.He didn't seem too awful concerned with the rash, he gave me a prescription medicine for it though. This guy's just out of med school, so maybe that has something to do with it. Oh well, I just saw him temporarily until I can get in to see my regular doctor. I just about know for sure that she would do the tests for me. Even if it's just for peace of mind, I would still like them done.Thank you Stomach Trouble for your concern.......... ronty

Hi Fuzzz, yes, I'm still bleeding. Well, even when it's not visible to the naked eye, it's still there. My stool is not black though. My friend brought me some more hemocults so that I could check it again, and I did today. Could not see a speck of blood, but the test came out positive as usual. I have the internal hemms. so I'm sure that's what it is, but they never bother me and whenever I do "go", it's almost always D. So I just really don't know why that they would be bleeding every time I have a BM. Oh well, I sent my first stool speciman in to the lab today, the first of three, so maybe I'll know something soon. Thanks for asking........ronty------------------C/D

Sorry to hear you are having such a rough time. May you can cut out grain wich is the cause of celiac and take it from there. The glutten in the wheat, oat, barley, rye is what causes it. If you cant get a blood test at least give the elimination a shot, you have nothing to loose & besides it's always a better way to find things for certain. (((((hugs))))) I feel for you.

Thanks Silver, you're a good gal. Yep, I'm going to watch the diet really close and see if I get to feeling better. I already see a difference from cutting out the milk and cheese, but am still having the torn up tummy feeling and the D and bloating. Of course I am still eating a bit of pasta. I will have to try to find that other pasta someone told me about, that people with Celiac can eat. But it's not half as bad as when I was eating cold cereal with just a couple tablespoons of milk and about 3-4 cheese sandwiches per day! Thanks again

Ronty,I would have to presume they would have noticed the celiac sprue when they did your last "scope"..... but then again, you never know.....When they check into this blood in the stool thing, they probabally will order another "scope".The rash and the pain is sooo consistant with the celiac thing. Yes, the sickness is rare - but then so are your symptoms !!! Some MD's just do not like patients to self diagnose.... gets in the way of their ego's.Great idea to eliminate all flour (bran, wheat, grahm, rye, oat) from your diet starting now. NO MORE PASTA !!! Read labels. If the word WHEAT is on the label - don't eat it. After a week or so, you should beable to tell the difference in your symptoms... they should begin to weaken. Most people with celiac sprue also are lactose intolerant - so stay off the dairy, too. Keep in touch... Stomach Troubles

Hi again Stomach Troubles! I didn't have any pasta yesterday and guess what??? I didn't have to sleep with the heating pad on my tummy
Yayyyyy! Who know's if it's Celiac or not, probably not. At any rate, I'm really trying hard to stick to the "new diet". It's really hard because I'm so limited anyway, but it's worth it also. It's been so hot at night, along with the heating pad on, it's almost unbearable. I will keep you posted whenever I hear from my tests.........Thank You

Hello Stomach Troubles!! Yes I had a nice holiday. Since I've given up ALL milk and cheese I am doing MUCH better. I haven't been eating hardly any pasta either. Never thought I could do it, but I have. I have had to sleep with my heating pad only once in an entire week, and that was due to "monthly issues" if you know what I mean! The rash on my leg is getting worse, it's spreading and the medicine the doc prescribed is doing zippo!! Nothing at all. At any rate, if the diet continues to help, then great right??? I did break over on the 3rd and had a slice of white birthday cake with that wonderfully rich white icing, that just happens to be my total favorite, and it did upset the tummy just a little bit, but all in all, I had a nice holiday. Even got to visit my little Granny twice!! YYYAAAAYYYYY!!
Thanks Stomach Troubles for your interest and all the helpful information that you have shared with me

Stomach Troubles, I too belong to the other IBS board, and have already inquired to Sarah about the prayer chain. I have been a Christian since I first turned 19 years old, I'm now 33. God is the ONLY one that has kept me hanging on at times. I praise His name!!! I'm so glad that we can talk about prayer and such, this is a freedom that we should never take for granted. Awhile back, on the other board, some really harsh comments were made about Believers and God, it sickened me to think that the same people whom I had grown so close to could be so ugly and disrespectful of my Lord, but it did happen. I don't visit that board very often anymore, but it looks like there's alot of new names there, and judging by Sarah's post about the prayer chain, alot of Believers are there now. That is GREAT!!!

One more thing..........I want to take time to thank God for all of you precious people whom visit this board, as well as the other boards, who give helpful information as well as moral support. Before I got my computer and found these sites, I was in terrible shape, both mentally and physically. I do believe with all my heart that God led me here to know that there are others out here suffering as much and some a whole lot more than me. I felt all alone in this world of IBS and now I have a great big family
I know it sounds corny, but, I love you all and thank God for you..........ronty
