I'm scheduled for hemorrhoid surgery on March 5th. I'm more worried about after the surgery and how much pain I'm going to be in. This is not a hemorrhoid that can be banded (which I have had done before...). This is an internal hemorrhoid that has prolapsed and can only be removed surgically. I'm worried about how the heck you can keep the area clean when you have IBS-D? Getting more nervous as the day gets closer!

Talk to your doctor about this beforehand! Keeping it clean is an issue I think. My mom had the surgery and was very worried because our music teacher growing up passed away after his (my mom said because he couldn't keep the area clean). I don't know if it is a wive's tale. I can't imagine they would even do the surgery if that was the case. My mom was fine. Just had to use wipes and sit on that donut thing.

I was just getting on here to ask if any one else has hemmorrhoid problems. I have IBS D and had a bad attack last Wed Night. I have two hemmorrhoids and went to my general DR. she gave me some cream and sent me on my way. Now they are still there but not really painful any more. I called because the one bleeds and has like a black spot on it. They told me they want to call tomorrow morning and make me an appt. with a Gastro Dr. I am so scared now something else is wrong with me. I had attacks Sunday and Tuesday and I am sure this further aggervated it.. Please help and give me some advice.

Are you just having D? My husband gets them and Colace is good to soften stools if you have regular ones. Maybe those wipes with witch hazel?
