Everyone has suddenly gone loopy about it here in the UK!I saw an ad in the paper that said 'HEALTHY BOWELS?' in big letters and went on to describe ibs (without actually using the phrase ibs - which i think is good, as ibs is not really a condition but a name for a collection of conditions connected to the bowels.) Anyway it was going on about how it can make ibs type problems better by cleansing the 'matter' that can build up in the bowel causing ibs symptoms.Woweee thought I. and there was even a coupon to take to a selection of health food stores to get this stuff. So off I went yesterday to get some, and - get this, ALL of the shops had sold out and were ordering more!!! This ad must have had so much impact! Made me feel a lot less alone with this thing!!!Anyway, I put myself down on the waiting list.Has anyone heard of it?any information?

I am not familiar with this product, but the idea that it can cleanse matter that can buildup in the bowel is an old myth called auto-intoxication. There is no known truth to it. However, that doesn't necesarily mean the product is bad or useless, only that it appears to be making an exaggerated claim (from what you told us).

I made a wee mistake, it's not a wonder'drug' so much, as it is all natural husks and plants and wotnot, rather than drug type things.I got some yesterday, it looks suspiciously like some fibre products I have tried before, but I shall give it a go.I'll try and remember to write down what is in it if it helps, and let you all know.wish me luck!!!
Another "cleansing" agent. You know, the bowel does a pretty good job of cleansing itself all by itself. These companies prey on our abhorence to our poop, calling it stuff that needs to be cleansed. Imagine, a colon is normally healthy will all that stuff in it that causes diseases once its out! The creator know what he was doing when he put us together.------------------Veni, vedi, vici!
