I've had a problem with IBS-D for many years. Did not do well at all with Lotronex. Thanks to this site, I've had some improvement with Caltrate. My sister gave me a newspaper article stating that many people have found help with chronic diarrhea by eating 2 Archway coconut macaroon cookies per day. I just started on these and would like to hear from anyone who has tried this.
I read an article in Prevention magazine once about how coconut is used in many cultures to help digestive problems. There was a thread about this once before, and someone mentioned that these cookies had 5 grams of fat each? If so, that might be too much fat for just a snack for my gallbladder-less body. Keep us posted if it works!
Its interesting, My Doctor mentioned another patient who swears by macaroon cookies. I tried and and was worse! Maybe I had the wrong kind? (maybe because they were chocholate)sickofsick
HI Carla. My mom called me from florida she was so excited about these macaroon cookies and I was too. I immediately went out the next day with my friend and bought the archway macaroon cookies. I ate two cookies and never stopped going for 24 hours !!!!! I don't know why. The only thing I can think of is the hight fat eventhough I have had cookies with some fat before. My mother was very disappointed and felt terrible that I suffered so. Some people say they help everyone is different. How Long have you been on the Lotronex? It took me a very long time and a few relapses but I have better days than bad ones lately. I have been on Lotronex since April. I'll be anxious to hear how you do on the macaroons. Good luckcarole . ------------------
