Maybe this will help? http://health.yahoo.com/health/encyclopedia/003050/0.html As for the bloating, I have found an antidepressant has helped me. It was chronic and on a daily basis. I found this out by mistake when I was put on Wellbutrin to quit smoking (it gave me a horrible panic atack though, so I don't know that I would recommend this particular one) but perhaps another one would be an option. Are you IBS-C or IBS-D. I have heard that Zelnorm helps those suffering from IBS-C...with bloating and constipation. I am going to give it a shot in a few weeks.Good Luck.Kari

Actually the antidepressant was Wellbutrin, but I had the panic atttack with it but other people don't have problems on it. It is prescribed for quitting smoking (the generic version of Zyban) and also for depression but it is an antidepressant that just happens to lessen the cravings for smokers and makes cigs tatse bad as a side effect. Zelnorm is only available by prescription. You can check for more info in the 5HT4 (Zelnorm) section and also the antidepressant forum.Hope it helps.

I thought I was the only one with the metalic thing happening. I get the metallic taste if I eat something bad for me. Actually things that would be bad for anyone. Like when I was in a tight situation and had to eat Burger King Chicken Strips. This is the only times where this happens.

HI,I know what you mean about the metal taste...it is brought on with certain foods although it is always there. I no longer can eat onions, (which I used to eat like apples), even changes the taste of wine, but funny thing is not only is this taste in my mouth, it seems like I prespire metal, and it stays on my skin. Does this happen to anyone. What can I take that would equalize this toxic metal taste? Good luck
