Well, I was diagnosed just under a week ago and I was given a leaflet on the main symptoms... I suffer all of them!
As soon as I got home I got a speech from my father saying that I should do this and that and the other. I had of course already read up on it so I knew my plan of action. My only question is, I eat a lot of pasta. Does it affect my patters and should I eat less of it?Also, does IBS affect sex because I'm finding it does a little. Does anyone else get this? I need to know I'm not alone on this sex subject thing becuase it really worries me!

I find that people with IBS tend to react to foods in different ways -- what is fine for some people is like death for others. I personally have no real issues with pasta, although watch the sauce/meat that you use -- that's likely what will kill you if anything. Almost everyone is effected by either fatty or spicy foods, so you'd probably do yourself a favour by avoiding those. As for the sex thing, this has come up on the board several times, and it seems that it's an individual issue -- some people have issues, some don't. Try doing a search and I'm sure you'll find several posts talking about it.
