Hi I am having my worst attack ever and I could use some help. For the first time ever I feel like throwing up all the time and I have dia. and each time the movements go in my stomach I get really hot and dizzy. G.P. has taken blood tests but these wont be back for days I need help now...... I am taking Prothiadine, Colofac and Aloe Vera juice in the mornings on an empty stomach. Can anyone tell me a short term quick fix..........Aussie

Aussie, I have never heard of the first two medications you are on. Do you have IBS? Has this been confirmed by diagnostic tests? Wish I could help, but all I can offer is support. Sounds awful. Is this really an IBS attack or something else? That would be my main concern.

aussie, a couple things. Attacks work us up, this speeds blood flow, increasing breathing, increases muscle tension etc.. This increases the symptoms. This is tough but try to relax as much as possible and take your mind off it as much as possible. Also try to lay on your left side and if you want to try slowly apply heat to the area to get the muslces to relax. A hot water bottle or even the warmth of your hand. IF you can get to sleep that would work the best, but may take a while to calm everything down.Sometimes lightly massaging the muscle pain helps. Also this is tough but have you eaten or can you eat? Some of this can help to get the actual body physical stress responce down from the attack.Hope this helps somewhat.

Thanks Eric I have kept eating because I find when I dont I get worse I have been eating very bland food and I really do not know what started this attack I was really careful over Xmas. Could I be right I thinking that really hot weather makes me worse. I has been really hot here and I hate the summer at anytime...Aussie.

yes, heat can generate an attack. Heat stress stresses the body and hence the IBS to set off an attack.Try to stay comfortable heat wise if you can.I just had to check on the eating thing.Attacks come in part when the bodies stressors outweight the ability to keep things in check.Hope you feel better soon Aussie.
