I've been dealing with IBS since junior high-when I was trying to fit in-very anxious-its been 25 years later-I'm 38. I too have had 2 colonoscopys, endoscopy, lastose tested, celiac disease tested, countless blood work-only thing they find is my esonphiles are little high (whatever that means)-Told I have GAD-generalized anxiety-I take lexapro & xanax-helps some. Now Last 3 years I've been suffering from night sweats on & off-I'm scared. My doctor makes me feel crazy-I feel so alone! I get such gas, bloating, having to run to the bathroom-diarrhea or loose stools-I've tried higher fiber diet-sometimes it helps sometimes it makes it worse. I've done acupuncture, see a therapist, chiropractor-running out of options! So tired it has robbed me of my life in so many ways!

Are you female?38 is a pretty common age for the hormones to be off just enough to start things like night sweats. You might try some of the diets or natural treatments that help with that sort of female issue. If you are a guy you may also need to get your hormone levels change. Guys have them too, but often not as dramatic but they can be off and it is something to check into.It may be worth getting your thyroid checked as well, and make sure you don't have a sleep issue like sleep apnea (how bad do you snore?) or anything like that at night.

You have had these night sweats for 3 years? What has your Dr said about them? There are many reasons one could be having them and according to this article stress and antidepressants are two of them.Here.. read for yourself:http://www.ehow.com/about_5075074_causes-n...sweats-men.htmlYou are not alone. We have a wealth of info here. Please use the site navigator at the bottom right of every page and find the forums that seem to be helpful to you & your symptoms. Then read, use the search function etc and post any questions you may have. Most people attain symptom management by using several treatments in concert. There is no quick fix. Finding what works for you will take much trial and error. What works for one of us doesn't always work for another of us. We are all unique. All you can do is try to find what works for you.All the bestPS I assumed you were male if you are not.. I apologize.

Yes I'm a male-I'm setting up an appt. with a specialist to check my thyroid, adrenal glands, and hormones-so sick of tests makes me more nervous but I need answers.

I've had night sweats for at least 15 years. When it starts to get really bad I can gain some control over it by using 3 things. First, try a relaxation tape in the evening, something like Mikes tapes. The second thing I'd suggest is try a probiotic (if you haven't already) like Align, or IBS advantage. The third thing is to reduce gas by eliminating all wheat from your diet.

Hello to all. The night sweats, what a bummer. I hear the alarm, throw off the covers and I am freezing as all my clothes are soaked from sweating. Cold one minute, hot the next. I had no idea the anti-depressents caused sweats. I am a 64 year old female and way past menapause but think I still get power surges (used to be called hot flashes). When the pain hits, the kind of pain when you are on the john at work and people are knocking to get in, and your hair is plastered to your forehead, and you try and act like everything is normal and hope the room spray works a little to cover up the odor. No one but us can relate to that kind of pain and discomfort, let alone the embarrasment of IBS.
