My name is Madeleine and i recently was diagnosed with both GERD and IBS-C, I also recently had my Gall bladder removed, and my IBS is out of control, i wake up in pain every morning, mostly in my back near my shoulder blades but occasionally in my abdomen. I burp a lot, and my stomach growls often, every now and then im nauseous, i live a mostly sedentary lifestyle because the symptoms make me feel so bad. i'm depressed, anxious, and just feel like giving up. treatments i am currently using are IBGuard, dulcolax, metamucil, colace, and obeying my fodmap diet, adn enemas. i did not obey my fodmap diet for a couple months, i sometimes walk and that seems to help temporarily, but its hard to get motivated due to the severity of my symptoms, i do not handle pain very well. my life feels like its spiralling out of control and i would really appreciate suggestions for treatment and possible lifestyle changes that have led to improvement in others.

Hello Madeleine. I am sorry you are suffering so much like this. I wish I could help with some practical ideas. Unfortunately I have the opposite (ibs-d) with rare bouts of constipation which pass quickly. So I don't have the same experience.
But I feel for you and hope you find something that helps you very soon.
At least you are not alone on this forum.

I understand exactly how you feel. My symptoms are out of control also, I'm in pain from constipation for most of the day. I understand how very frustrating it is to feel controlled like this. I wish you best of luck in finding some relief, perhaps different doctors if needed. God bless.

HI Madeleine, I"m sorry you are in so much pain! I have really bad flare ups also. I may be taking my gallbladder out soon because I had a HIDA scan and it doesn't function properly. I;m curious as to why you had to have yours removed. Everything is worse for you now? I cannot take ducolax as it cause my intestines to go spastic and gives me too much pain. Currently I only use MIralax which is considered an osmotic laxative.

Hi!

I went through and I am still going through something similar. Had severe upper back pain then flank pain, GERD, muscle tenderness. So many symptoms. I had blood work done, Ultrasound and been to several Dr's but most kept on saying Ibs then Fibromyalgia. Basically they don't know. I did have a severe vit D deficiency of 7 and since going on supplements I feel better but still with symptoms and trying to manage that with diet. I take it day by day.

Please try Meclizine 25 mg.; it helps me enormously with nausea, gas. It relaxes the bowel and releases the gas.
