hey i have just joined. my name is francesca and im 20. i have currently been suffering with ibs for over a year, and the past few months it has become unbearable, the pain is so bad sometimes that im fainting, and my stomache gets so hard sometimes, but guess what the doctors say there is nothing they can do i have tried all the tablets, buscopan, mebervine the lot, tried everything. please someone help i cant cope with it any longer. x

Have they tried low dose antidpressants?Have you tried hypnotherapy?Have you tried pepperimint (colpermin is one brand, I think I have the name right)?

Have you tried hyoscyamine? I was recently prescribed this due to abdominal cramping and so far it seems to help. It acts directly on the gut and not other neuron receptors in your body.
