Our research team at UNC-Chapel Hill is studying IBS bloating in great detail right now, in the hopes of developing a questionnaire that can identify the different causes of bloating and measure changes in bloating over time. We are trying to finish this study soon, but need quite a few more people to participate. So I thought I would invite people on this board to help us out by participating online. You can complete this study entirely online (probably in less than half an hour), and we pay you $10 for your participation - which currently only involves first completing a two-page screening questionnaire, and then completing a more detailed study questionnaire. This link will take you directly to the study: http://www.behavioralmedicine.net/blconsent.html We will be doing this step in a couple of waves with different questionnaire versions, so even if you are not ready to complete the longer questionnaire now, you may want to still complete the screening and we will contact you about participating in the next wave.We separate all personal identifiers from the clinical data people give us, so participating is safe in terms of privacy.Hopefully this questionnaire development effort will soon give us better methods for investigating and understanding IBS bloating. Thanks,Olafur Palsson, Psy.D.Research AssociateDepartment of MedicineUniversity of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
