Hi everyone, I just found out i have IBS. Would like to know if anyone has similar pain??? For one it only lasts 3-5 days. It happens every 3 to 5 weeks. It strarts off slow, i feel pressure and pain it the rectum, especially when i sit down. then the pain radiates up to my lower abdomin, both left and right sides. The right side is always the most painfull. It really hurts to walk, sneeze, cough, stand up stright, even to drive b/c i have to move my right leg. Does this happen to anyone else????????

What type of doctor diagnosed you with IBS? It's very important to see a specialist because so many different symptoms can be similiar. I know IBS can cause the whole intestinal tract starting with the stomach to the rectum pain.

Hi Rowe2, I had a colonoscopy with a GI guy. He did not take any biopies. He didn't even see me after the procedure, just wrote down that i had IBS and let me go.

Tee-Pee..do you notice if you are more constipated when this occurs? It sounds like the same I've dealt with, and it was always when I in a cycle of C instead of D.

Rowe, I don't know if this is C, but i don't seem to go as much(Very little)The stool is still very soft and mushy. When the all the pain subsides, i start going again and again and again also, there is white stringy stuff attached. Sorry to be gross. It feels like my whole GI system stops, and i get really bad heartburn while all this happens. Any ideas or thoughts????????

Hi Tee-PeeI had watery (slimmy) stools but I am confirmed IBS-C. I increase my intake of fibre just to make it harder.. I now take carrot juice every night and sometimes i include prune juice (cos I am C)Try and see, make sure you take lots of water with fibre.terence

Tee-Pee..it does sound as if you have the symptoms of the classical IBS. You are probably seeing mucus from the bowels, which is no threat. You also sound as if you are alternate C/D. Spasms in the intestinal tract will make all kinds of pain. If I can help with suggestions of treatment, let me know.

Hi, I always thought you had crampy pain w/IBS. The pain i feel is constant it never lets up. Does anyone get instant fatigue when the pain comes? It takes all i have just to get up and make dinner. The summer time is the worst, when it hits i can't get up to take the kids outside. That is something that really upsets me.
