how can you get the dose of iralax right?

i am totally laxative dependant due to overuse of stimulant laxatives in past for ibsc. i am now trying miralax but cant seem to get the right dose 2caps does nothing then go to 21/2 then 3 nothing 31/2 then i have diarrhea all day does anyone know of an alternative or has anyone had experience with miralax help?
