hi guys, like many other people here i have had to drastically alter my diet as a result of my ibs. i have had to cut dairy, wheat and as much fat as possible from my diet. I don't eat beef, lamb or pork and have also made sacrifices with foods that include onion, garlic, spices, broccoli, cauliflour, leek, have to avoid caffine, and fruit juices etc etc. i am also eating smaller portions of food to avoid bloating.i have been eating this way for around seven months now, and since then i have lost 18ibs in weight. basically my family are very concerned by this, but i believe its due to the change in my eating habits. i recently visited my doctor who wants me to monitor my weight for the next three weeks.has anyone else experienced these problems and do you feel this could be totally due to food changes? Thanks

shadowz & vicky, dont worry about taking over my messages gurls, it's no problem really. i appreciate your feedback on this cuz my family think i might have something more serious than ibs due to the weight loss and blood in stools occasionally.regarding the number meals your eating, i have breakfast, mid morning snack, lunch, dinner, supper/evening snack...so i'm not really cutting down on the amount i'm eating really, just being very careful with what i eat.hope your both doing okay today? *s*

just to let you know vicky i am currently using a pasta made from maize rather than durum wheat and its excellent (doesn't give me any problems)...so if you ever feel like you want to give pasta a try again you should give it a go...trouble is i can't remember the name of it! *Doh*
