Now that it seems like I have diarrhea every ten minutes after eating and the pain is so so bad, I never want to eat. I just don't get hungry, and I know whatever I eat comes out, so I have to plan when I eat, and if I have an episode then, I'm in trouble. I'm underweight and am losing weight, so I really need to find a way to force myself to eat. The problem is most calorically dense foods trigger my problems... The only things that don't seem to bother me are drinks. Anything else makes me have to go and is so painful. I really can't afford to lose any more weight!!!

i know exactly how you feel. I have Crohn's Disease and as soon as i take 3 bites of food it comes right back out. Drinks bother me too I can drink something and be in bathroom. Last year I had lost down to 98 lbs. Since then for some reason i gained a bunch of weight, but dont know how cause every time i eat it comes out when I drink it comes out. I go probably 30 times a day. My dr. said with my Crohns disease weight can go from one extreme to another. I weight 148 lbs. now and I have NEVER weighed this much not even when I was pregnant. I hardly eat because of running 2 bathroom so i don't understand how I have gained weight. I normally go all day and not eat and will try to eat supper at night after a few bites, i cramp and go to bathrooom. i know what you are going thru and its hard. wish i could tell u it gets better, u just learn to live with it. Its been 5 yrs since I was diagnosed and i am still struggling. sometimes i won't leave my house for days for the fear of having to go and being on a rd where there is no bathroom near.

I have tried imodium, but every time I did it it wouldn't stop my reaction. I'd just keep on trying for a few days, and eventually get constipated. Now many people have told me to use it, but I'm a little scared to try again...Right now I'm hovering at 70 pounds, very low. But I feel like every time I start to feel better, it's already mealtime and if I eat it will just get worse again. There's just no escaping it!

Have you tried an antispasmodic, Peppermint if you can't get any prescriptions from any doctor at all.Have you tried Calcium with meals?Really if you are this ill you do need to be back at the doctor as your weight sound dangerous to me.Can you tolerate Ensure to up the calories. It often is well tolerated and is nutritionally balanced for people who are having a hard time eating.

I was in a very similar boat a year ago and lost a large amount of weight, to the point where I could only eat a yogurt with honey and banana a day. I'd gag if I ate anything more and my stomach didn't feel like it could handle more. What I had to do was subtly introduce peanut butter, tahini and melted dark chocolate into the yogurt... I don't know if these are possiblities for you, but I found that it'd trick my body as it wasn't a larger amount really, but it was more calories. Another good thing is if it's particularly bad, a cup of peppermint tea with a lot of honey, or rice milk/soy milk if you drink them, with a lot of honey and cinnamon in.

You have to try to make what little you can eat really count. And when you're going through an especially bad time, there's no way that you can get a good square meal in you.Have you considered meal replacement bars/shakes? There's also several types of weight gain supplements for athletes, many of which are to be used as a shake/drink, though make sure that you don't have any issues/allergies to the ingredients. These supplements tend to aid adding muscle, not fat, so that's the upside. The downside is that they can be expensive to consume on a regular basis. If you decide to look into it, see if you can get a sample or two to try at home and see how it sits on your tummy before making a larger purchase.I've gone for four weeks at times living on meal replacement bars and water. They have a lot of nutritional bang in a relatively small volume. Yes, I'd still get D, but at least what little I could force myself to choke down and keep down was the best I could give my body.

i'd see your dr if i were you and get fortisip and calogen prescribed.....4 fortisips per day and 3 mouthfuls of calogen equals 1600 cals per day!The stuff has kept me out of hospital over the last 4 weeks. and me energy levels feel good (in between the bouts of nausea).

I'm not sure where you're based and whether you have Polycal there, it's similar to Fortisip that the person above mentioned. It comes in ready-made liquid and powder form and my mother had it when she was very ill... it was all she could have and contains all the stuff you need to sustain a certain amount of weight. It can only be prescribed however. You can mix juice with it and stuff if you don't like the taste.
