Hello,Unfortunately I'm having a very bad day going from IBS-D to C and back again. I have levsin which usually works but when I take one the abdominal pain (Belly button area) gets worse. Any advice on how to stop it?I went to the doctor but he want's gall bladder testing done. But did agree to let me see a GI doctor who can't get me in for a week. Currently under alot of stress you can see and don't know how to stop the cycle.......Help please?

This is going to sound really corny and I'm sure I'm going to get slammed for this one but I use to suffer from a lot of pain - it's not so bad anymore - when you go to your GI get a prescription for Ultram first and foremost. BUT when meds aren't available, close your eyes and do some deep, slow breathing. Usually the pain means your having spasms and I have found that I can actually slow that down with my breathing - sometimes not all the time. It's worth a shot.

Hello, Actually it has finally gotten alot more tolerable. You are right about the slow deep breathing as it slows the heart rate and spasms.Thank you,George
