Hi, Does anyone know how much magnesium it is safe to take per day? I have a big problem with calcium constipating me. The usual ratio of 2:1 for cal/mag causes me constipation. Want to increase the magnesium? Is this safe? Anyone know?
The USRDA minimum is about 400 mgs a day, the usual recommended maximum is 1000 mgs a day. Probably most people with healthy kidneys can go a bit over that, but if you do it every day you want to try to stay under 1000.
