You should never drop down from 30mg to 20mg immediately. That alone will give anybody gut symptoms, IBS or not.If you want to try a lower dose, you have to do it gradually. Shave a little off your tablet, say 1mg, try that for 2 weeks. If that is okay, try shaving off another 1mg. And so on until you do have symptoms. Then go back up 1mg. If things settle after two weeks, stay there. With any luck, you might find you don't get symptoms and can stop taking the drug all together.SSRIs don't come in gradually lower doses so you will have to do this with a fingernail or a butter knife.But never make sudden changes with these drugs.Oh, and I am on 20mg. It works, I'm happy.
