Hi,My husband had an out patients appointment on Monday and was told that his last MRI showed that he had an inflammed small bowel and they wanted to do another colonoscopy (during the last one they could only go so far as the sedative didn't work and it got to painful) they have agreed to do the next one under a GA.Monday night / Tuesday morning he had severe diahroea and stomach cramps and I called an ambulance and was admitted Tue afternoon after 10.5hrs in A&E. They did an Xray and CT scan and said that his small bowel is looped and distended. They had kept him nil by mouth until today and said they won't do the colonoscopy whilst he's in but as an outpatient (seems silly to us).He has tried eating today and it looks like the diahroea has started, not sure if it's the food or matter that was stuck in his bowel from before. They are planning on discharging him tomorrow if he is ok over night. He asked what he does if it happens again as severely and they said just come back in again. We are really worried that he will keep having to go back and forwards to A&E without anyone doing anything for him.He takes Buscopan, Tramadol, Imodium and also started trying Calcuim as we had read here that it might help.Really worried as he can't work like this but doesn't get sick pay only SSP, just don't know what to do.ThanksEmma
