I've tried hypnotherapy twice and it didn't work either time. Once for smoking, (Iwas smoking 3 hrs later)and I really did want to quit! The second time was for a phobia. (yep, I'm deathly afraid of moths). What happens if you just aren't a good subject? This happens right? I did have some results with the phobia therapy as far as relaxing and had several sessions, but was unable to get any real effect. Could it be because the therapist is a family friend? Oh yeah, Are bad dreams a common reaction?

that'sone of the reasons it sometimes is good to see a professional. Hypnozibility is something you learn to do. practice makes perfect and the last figure I saw was that 90% of people could learn how. If you have the cd listen to Mike and don't worry about ittom

Bellynot, ask Mike001 about this, I know treating IBS is inherently different then say quitting smoking and he can tell you why. Some other reasons here you mentioned may have had an effect as well. It is worth it for you to talk to him about it.
