I am 22, and I want to be able to act like it!

I am 22 years old and have been suffering with IBS-C for 3 years now. It started off with abdominal bloat the minute after I ate breakfast. I looked like the starving children in Africa with their stomachs distended. I would cry on my way back from class and just lay on my heating pad. I was first put on zelnorm, didn't work, I was switched over to amitizia and I was having trouble breathing. I was then put on reglan and everything seemed to be going well for a while. Fast forward to March 2009 and I was out of Reglan and was away at school not being able to see a doctor. I stopped the medicine and was doing great until I graduated and returned home for the summer. I saw a new doctor and they put me back on Amitizia and it seemed to be working. They also put me on Lactulose powder at night to help with the constipation. There are days when I am great and I don't look all bloated, then their are days when I am doubled over in pain. This past summer I was sent for a colonoscopy. The prep did not work. It was 7 hours later and I felt nothing happening. I had to drink 2 bottles of citric of magnesia before I finally went to the bathroom about 1130 at night when I started at noon. My doctor finally sent me to a motility specialist, whom I am in the process of seeing right now. My stomach is still terrible. I can not lose weight, even though I am dieting and I go to the gym 5 days a week, usually in the morning (when my stomach feels best). With the amount I work out you would think I would look like some sick anorexic model, this is not the case, it looks as though I do nothing. My stomach can look fine when I wake up and then by the time I get home from work it looks as though I am pregnant. I am also having trouble with gas pains that will not go away. I am 22 years old and just want to have my life back. The IBS-C has kept me from going out with my friends because my stomach hurts so bad and I feel like I am the size of a blimp. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Or is there anything that you have found that works. PLEASE HELP!
