Okay, this is really getting crazy. 6 hours ago, going on 7 hours i had a tuna fish sandwich on rye with french fries and i feel bloated to the point i look 8 months pregnant. no gas, no farting (so about being gross), just a belly that sticks out so if i stand on the corner of an intersection my belly will be hit by a car. god, it looks gross. anyone take anythjing that may help them. my gastro says food takes longer to go out of my stomach. that was years ago. this is really out of site. my belly is really sticking out. this happens alot when i eat and i have been dealing with it. but just want to know if anyone here has the same problem and has found something to take otc (over the counter) that helps them. the summer is coming and i really dont want to sit there in my bathingsuite where my belly looks like the rocky mountains.please suggest something.thanks allmark

Are you experiencing C, D, or neither? C can cause distention and bloating for the obvious reasons, but D can also cause distention as a result of dehydration. Be sure you are getting enough water. I'd probably stay off fried food. Fat can, among many other things, trigger nerves between the stomach and colon to slow stomach emptying and digestion. That's what I've heard, but it hasn't done much for me. I have had the same problem for years. It's too "poochy" to be muscle and too hard to be fat or flab. As a male, it's pretty difficult to look pregnant, but it doesn't look great.

I can't believe what I'm reading. I have the exact same problem, and I really thought I was alone. I guess it's because gas and bloating don't really come up in conversation, haha. Anyway, the things I found help a LITLLE (very little, but I'll take whatever I can get) are staying away from fried foods and taking activated charcoal capsules- you can buy them at any health foods store, and they're pretty inexpensive. It doesn't eliminate the problem, but it does reduce the frequency- for me, at least.

Hi Marka!I avoid all of the mentioned foods you ate. Bread, tuna and french fries. They all give me problems. In many cases my problems occurrs twice - about 9 and 24 hours after I've been eating "bad" food. I wonder where the food is then in the digestive system. To be able to eat grains, I have to cook them a long time in much water, which I do frequently. If I happen to eat food that's bad for me, I eat an umeboshi plum and avoid water for two hours.

JUST READ the charcoal capsule suggestion. I have never tried these so glad to hear of something new - thank you. Peppermint tea, healthy eating, loads of fruit and fresh veg and a definite increase in fluids (now take between 3-4pints a day) & gym 3 times a week ALL to try and help my constipation. Yet all of these things have made no major change to me at all.
Allthough apart from my bloatedness and cnstp overall I feel generally HEALTHY... If anyone can suggest where I may be going wrong please, please let me know RE-THE 2 areas I keep trying to fix! Thank you

Kez, Have you seen a dr regarding your C? It sounds like you follow a good diet/ exercise regimen. Have you ever tried taking a fiber supplement? I am also going to recommend that you go on "Heathers" website and read about her products. .. How often are you getting these symptoms and do you notice it after certain foods or time of the day???

Hi jomo569, last Dr I saw (few yrs ago now) gave me 'fibogel' worked for a week then i got const.again. I went back and was told "oh yes it does that"....that last visit was the icing on the cake as 3-4 doctors in the practice really didn't do or say much so I have lost faith in doctors. Tried colonic hydrotherapy 2 weeks ago to 'kick'start what I hoped would be a new me....haven't been now since saturday (sorry folks for being a little too informative) I have realised that i have a slight intolerance to dairy so I watch my intake there. I can get very bloated with it if i'm not careful. I will definitely look on Heather's site - thankyou.
