I go everyday to the bathroom, but my upper back always hurts from gas pains and my belly is puffy. I know that there is one stuck in there like every week and I don't feel good until it comes out. I do everything in my power to get it to come out or get my body to loosen up.Does anyone who has constipation know what I'm talking about?

I know EXACTLY. Try a glycerine suppository (My GI said they ARE safe) If you're not squeamish, you can pull it out, as long as you are wearing gloves, using lubricant, etc. Magnesium makes me TOO loose, so I'm stopping that. You might try it, but it takes a couple of days to work.An extra cup of coffee, even though nauseating? My doctor won't allow peppermint oil or ginger tea, as he says they're LAXATIVES, not just herbs.Good luck!------------------Charter Counselor of the United Federation of Planets

Ha Ha! This is all so funny to me! Like a confessional so to speak. I have this same issue: Loose followed by the "sticky" who won't get off the boat! I find that a good rub of the belly in a downward fashion, alternating right and left side can often get that last soldier "over the top". Lately I have benn just doing my best to leave it there and ignore it until its time comes. Not very easy or comfortable. This often leads to irritation of the soft tissue, so to speak. Ah well. We must have done something very bad in a past life!

This is my main IBS symptom. Since I use milk of magnesia daily, I can expect some IBS which is better than chronic C. Anyway, I always have total liquid, gas and hard rocks. Nothing in-between. All the hard stuff mixes with the liquids, and often times it is too tired and lazy to come out. The gas stays in for a while too. I must push very hard on my upper abdomen to expel intestinal gas. I can't handle the bloating from not having a flat, empty colon.Suppositories are useless to me. They cause soreness and burning despite using lots of Vaseline. They don't do a thing.[This message has been edited by AD (edited 06-13-2001).]
